Tunisia to host 20th Arab Radio and TV Festival from next June 27 to 30

(TAP) - The Tunis City of Culture will host, for the second consecutive year, the 20th edition of the Arab Radio and TV Festival scheduled for June 27 to 30, 2019.

Tunisia annually hosts this regional event organised by the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU), in partnership with Tunisian Radio and Television institutions and the Arab Satellite Communications Organisation (Arabsat).

The festival features two official competitions. One is dedicated to television and news programmes and the other radio and news programmes.

A parallel competition is reserved for programmes and news programmes produced by private Arab television channels, which are not members of ASBU.

The competition also targets production companies, Arab news agencies and non-Arab satellite channels that broadcast in Arabic.

As for the Radio, the parallel competition is directed to ASBU member Arab radios, private radios and radio production companies, and their counterparts among the radio stations that broadcast programmes in Arabic.

Two workshops on engineering and programming and a television and radio market are on the agenda of this edition.

The hall of the Culture City will see the exhibition of the latest innovations and equipment used in radio and television production.

A tribute will be paid to a host of Arab personalities in the field of arts and media.

The festival aims to promote Arabic radio and television production and present the latest technological innovations in audiovisual production.
